For more than thirty years, the credit card debt bill for all Americans has gone in only one direction: up and up and up. Indeed, most commentators on economic conditions have warned that the financial strength of the United States will inevitably suffer as a result since other nations examine the solvency of our citizens as an indicator of the hea... Michigan Debt Relief
As the proud men and women of Michigan struggle through this most recent financial crisis upsetting most every household within our state, the necessity for debt relief has never been more profound. At every turn, factories close, jobs disappear, real estate markets shrink towards nothingness, and yet the credit card bills continue to be sent and the collection agents redouble their efforts. Still, even as the economic climate continues to darken, too many Michigan borrowers, faced with the unsettling proposition of debt relief strategies bound to cripple their domestic accounts and ruin their credit for the foreseeable future, choose to do nothing about their overwhelming debts. It may be an understandable reflex, when faced with impossible decisions, to simply attempt to avoid the situation entirely, but the interest shall continue to raise the amounts owed (even after the accounts have been closed) and the lenders aren’t likely to forgive and forget past obligations whether they came about as the result of poor budgeting or as sad consequence of the catastrophic decline of the Michigan economy. Much as the federal government has lately extended a hand to home owners whose residences face imminent foreclosure – a welcome assistance for all too many Michigan families given the current trials of our state’s economy and unemployment rates that are the highest in the nation – there’s no equivalent help laid out for the more pedestrian matter of debt relief. Closing eyes and ears to the scavenging creditors clawing at the gates, Michigan borrowers who willfully ignore their creditors’ entreaties just until legal action forces wage garnishment or property seizure risk their households’ very survival. Selecting an appropriate debt relief engine around which to build the budgetary chassis – something that fits the Michigan consumers’ immovable family expenses, realistically accounts for the bread winners’ dimming economic prospects within the state, and prioritizes the most destructive financial burdens – must be seen as the necessary first step for any borrowers beginning the long journey toward lasting relief of all relevant unsecured debt loads.
Much as the selection of a debt relief maneuver may seem an extraordinarily difficult endeavor, there’s one plan that has met with a great deal of success for all Michigan heads of household who’ve attempted the program. The debt settlement solution, in which trained and certified professionals speak to lenders on behalf of their clients in Michigan or elsewhere around the country and forcibly request the reduction of outstanding credit balances, decreases the outstanding balances subject to negotiation (those balances that are also subject to Chapter 7 debt relief bankruptcy) by as much as two thirds with a minimum of the negative consequences that surround the alternative methods. For just one example, debt settlement negotiation does not contain anywhere’s near the damage to credit reports that bankruptcy protection or Consumer Credit Counseling programs portend. Since settlement companies insist that all of the Michigan borrowers’ open accounts be closed so as to assure the lenders that everything’s thoroughly equitable – any suggestion of preferential treatment would be deadly for the professional settlement negotiator’s reputation – there shall inevitably be repercussions felt within the debtor’s credit scores. Successful negotiations shall also be reflected within the reports generated by the three main credit bureaus through notes that these accounts were settled rather than paid in full which, much as anyone understands the labyrinthine computations and mysterious algorithms of the Fair Isaacs system, shall briefly lower FICO scores. Compared to the absolute devastation that inevitably follows bankruptcy declaration or entrance to Consumer Credit Counseling and similar debt relief plans, Michigan borrowers should find the settlement negotiation solution remarkably agreeable to their future credit opportunities, and, much as this may be due to the relative novelty of the program, nobody flirting with debt settlement negotiation should ever fear a potential job application asking whether or not the candidate had indulged this particular debt relief strategy.
Debt settlement negotiation does incorporate, much like the Consumer Credit Counseling programs, a payment schedule that asks the company’s clients to mail just one check to the settlement firm presuming that the funds shall be split up among the different lenders. Settlement negotiation, however, avoids the extended terms which aim to keep borrowers in debt for as long as possible. In fact, the grand majority of Michigan borrowers that make it through the settlement program of debt relief end up completely free of all of their unsecured bills in less than sixty months after they officially sign on for assistance. As well, while the initial charge for debt settlement negotiation may seem relatively steep, these costs are but a small percentage of the savings to be had from successful negotiations: satisfied Michigan clients have reported balance reductions of more than sixty five percent! Some borrowers would find their savings to be markedly less, of course, depending upon the identity of the creditors and their responsiveness to the settlement negotiation approach – any legitimate debt settlement company would not be able to offer much more than an estimate of their clients’ eventual results without studying their borrowing history and a full listing of their lenders as well as the amount of money owed – but a brief chat with a certified debt relief negotiation specialist should give some indication of the range available from settlement. Since this strategy has only recently been expanded for use by ordinary citizens (it was formerly the sole debt relief province of wealthy bankers facing liquidity problems but unwilling to expose their assets to forfeiture through bankruptcy protection), not every resident of Michigan will find a settlement office close by their own town. Fortunately, though, the debt settlement industry grew along with the internet boom, and the services of the more proficient settlement negotiators can be employed from anywhere in Michigan over the web. Furthermore, the representatives of these sites will offer free consultations at the borrowers’ request to see whether or not this sort of debt relief should be applicable to their particular situation. However tempted Michigan heads of household may be to simply avoid the encroaching debts while despairing of any worthwhile solution, no borrower concerned about their family’s welfare should attempt to justify hopelessness before doing absolutely everything within their power to attempt to discover the truth about every potentially effective method of debt relief.
